The electricity price calculator is a simple comparison tool. You just need to enter your average annual consumption. If you do not have your latest electricity bill handy, you can alternatively provide the number of people in your household for an initial estimate. Our electricity price calculator also asks for the postcode. This is because network operation charges are not the same everywhere. For example, they are lower in Berlin than in Hamburg. While other nationwide providers calculate a uniform price across the country, Prokon has opted to make these differences transparent through the electricity price calculator. This is because Prokon does not want you, as a consumer in a region with lower network charges, to subsidise the higher costs in other regions. We think that’s fair. After all, the cost of generating electricity only accounts for about a quarter of the price.

Basically yes! We supply customers throughout the entire country. In regions close to the border, it may be that delivery is not possible due to technical reasons. Simply enter your consumption and postcode into our tariff calculator to see which unit rate and standing charge apply to Prokon Wind Energy in your postcode area.
When we receive your application, we will terminate your electricity contract with your previous supplier, take care of the remaining formalities regarding the switch, and keep you informed throughout the process. According to the switching regulation, this entire process takes around 3 weeks.
The possible start date of your new Prokon electricity contract depends on the term of your existing contract. We will inform you of the binding start date of delivery and the amount of your monthly instalment in your contract confirmation.
If you are moving or have already moved, you can switch to Prokon electricity retroactively by up to six weeks. The prerequisite is that we receive your fully completed electricity contract within this period and that your previous tenant or owner has properly deregistered with their supplier.
The start of supply must not be more than 180 days, or six months, in the future when you submit your electricity application. If you have a longer notice period with your current provider, your application will unfortunately be automatically rejected by Prokon. In this case, setting a reminder in your calendar is a good idea. This will remind you to resend the application to us within the 180-day window before the contract begins. No, don't worry! You will be supplied with electricity continuously. Switching to another electricity provider is merely a contractual matter. The local default supplier is legally obligated to ensure your electricity supply at all times.
No, we are happy to take care of all the switching formalities for you.
You only need to cancel your electricity provider yourself if you wish to exercise a special right of termination with them. You may be entitled to this, for example, if your provider has increased their prices.
Of course! In our energy portal, you can easily manage all electricity contracts yourself, update personal information, submit meter readings, notify us of your move, change your bank details, and view your contract documents.
To avoid the possibility that your network operator estimates the meter reading (potentially to your disadvantage), we recommend that you take your meter reading before the start of your contract. You can submit your meter reading to us directly via our energy portal. You will receive access to the energy portal after a one-time registration using your customer and contract number. Your responsible network operator may also contact you regarding the meter reading.
In the portal, you will find an input form for the current meter reading under "Do it yourself" or "What would you like to do?". Of course, the current meter reading can also be submitted via email or telephone. If we need the meter reading to issue a bill, we will notify our customers in advance and request the submission of a meter reading. Additionally, the basic utility provider requests a meter reading once a year from all electricity customers, regardless of which provider supplies you.
